Marlene Noda

Marlene Noda has been a professional sushi chef for well over two decades. Starting in 1989 she has worked in Hawaii, Portland, Alaska, and currently Salt Lake City. We feel lucky to be able to learn from her years of experience and education.

Marlene earned her bachelor’s degree in culinary management from the Art Institute of Salt Lake. She currently owns and operates a catering company and is a chef at Blind Dog Restaurant and Sushi Bar and Grappa Italian Restaurant in Park City, Utah. She has been teaching others how to create sushi creations since 2002 and is the inventor of the very popular Mars Twist Roll.

Sushi making is one of those mysterious things that many of us wish we could do but don’t know where to start. Marlene Noda is here to answer all your questions and hopefully make things easy for you!  We will be learning techniques-how to safely cut fish and keep your ingredients fresh and make spicy tuna rolls, vegetable rolls, and California rolls with king crab and avocado. We’ll also experiment with nigiri sushi. You’ll leave with recipes for perfect sushi…
